Co-Owner/ Managing Partner
Dean Johnson and Kim Seifert are the co-founders of The Blind Men – Custom Window Coverings. Their friendship started while they were attending the University of Regina. Dean has a gamut of experience in the financial and accounting sectors, including spending the beginning of his career with the Federal Government as an auditor for Revenue Canada & GST and later getting into the Oil & Gas consulting business as a CPA. Kim started out as an IT/ Business Consultant working with Provincial Government’s and expanding into International contracts with Weyerhaeuser, American Airlines and United Airlines. Kim started his Mortgage Brokering business and still works in the industry as a Mortgage Professional.
The idea to start a Custom Blind Company happened when in the process of building their new homes and were quoted a price for window coverings. Feeling that the price was somewhat unreasonable, they had a quick chat that turned into a lengthy conversation and The Blind Men were born.
Taking their 40 years of combined Business & Consulting experience, they decided to start a window covering business. The Goal: Deal only with manufacturers that have the best product, warranty and service on the market, while maintaining affordable prices for the client. This quickly led to the current structure of the company: No Brick & Mortar, No Expensive Franchise Fees, No Expensive Advertising, and finally Streamlining Processes to eliminate waste. Bring Affordability Back to Custom Window Coverings!
We have structured The Blind Men so WE can all be successful. This has been the key to the fast growth of The Blind Men working closely with our first franchise owner, consultants, and installers who proudly run their own business under The Blind Men name.
